On May 11, the National Energy Administration announced the grid-connected operation of wind power in the first quarter of 2020.
According to industry statistics, in the first quarter of 2020, the country's new grid-connected installed capacity of wind power was 2.36 million kilowatts, of which onshore wind power added 2.07 million kilowatts and offshore wind power added 290,000 kilowatts.
As of the end of March, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power nationwide was 213 million kilowatts, including 206 million kilowatts of onshore wind power and 6.14 million kilowatts of offshore wind power. From the perspective of the newly installed capacity layout, it is mainly concentrated in the five provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, Guangxi, Qinghai and Ningxia, with 370,000 kilowatts, 280,000 kilowatts, 270,000 kilowatts, 250,000 kilowatts, and 200,000 kilowatts respectively.
In the first quarter, wind power generated 114.9 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%.
The average utilization hours of wind power nationwide were 548 hours, and the regions with higher utilization hours were Yunnan (988 hours), Sichuan (882 hours) and Guangxi (748 hours).
